What changes in real use?
- For family-road use: Ti7 has a 120 mm longer wheelbase and a longer body, with a stronger rear-seat and family-use emphasis.
- For repeated off-road use: B5 officially lists body-on-frame construction, larger approach/departure angles and differential-lock hardware by trim. It also has more independent testing on steep, rocky and corrugated surfaces.
- For range: Ti7 lists 90 km more WLTP combined range. Current UAE specifications do not publish directly comparable electric-only range for both vehicles; B5 lists a 31.8 kWh battery and 100 kW DC charging, while Ti7’s current page lists a 26.6 kWh battery and 6.6 kW AC charging without a DC figure.
- For comfort: available reviews describe both as quiet and comfortable on smoother roads, but each can transmit more impact or noise on rough surfaces. “More comfortable” is not defensible without naming the road, trim and test conditions.
One-minute decision
| Priority | Closer fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Rear-seat space and family touring | Ti7 | Longer wheelbase and clearer family-road positioning |
| Official UAE combined range | Ti7 | Up to 870 km WLTP versus 780 km |
| Published DC charging | Only B5 in current data | B5 lists 100 kW; the current UAE Ti7 page does not publish a DC figure |
| Off-road hardware and geometry | B5 | Body-on-frame, larger angles and differential locks by trim |
| Easy city driving and light steering | Ti7 | The most consistent theme across published Ti7 drives |
| Matched heavy-sand proof for both | No defensible winner | No independent like-for-like comparison is available yet |
Why do published driving impressions differ?
Trim, tyre size and pressure, battery state, drive mode and road surface can materially change the result. Australian B5 reviews included corrugations and rocky climbs; most Ti7 drives were shorter and concentrated on city or paved roads, with only limited sand exposure. The absence of a complaint in a short drive is not evidence of superiority.
